You've been talking

Now they're listening!

Stories of hunting and fishing adventures are almost always accompanied by a healthy combination of bragging and complaining.     In a town known for its cold weather and lack of excitement, the winter often leaves students with a fair amount of free time on their hands.       One way to fill this time and become productive is through volunteering, and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has many opportunities available for anyone interested.

Fish Programs Receive Special Attention

As the new year begins, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has begun work on several new plans for fishery management programs across the state.   Recently announced were parts of new management plans for both trout and muskellunge (muskie) species.

Hunters Leave Many Deer For Next Year

Confirming many deer hunters' reports, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has now stated officially that the deer harvest this year was lower than last. The 11.6 percent decrease was expected by the DNR, and is due largely to the changes in regulations in many deer zones.

Turn In Poachers

A T.I.P. For All Hunters

As stories are inflated and the tales of big bucks are told, there are some new topics that have hunters talking.  With most of the firearms deer season behind us, it's a good time to tell those tales of success, and maybe some new ones of failure.
