Completely Stumped

Dear Allie,

I don’t usually write about this type of thing, but I’m so confused. I’m the girl who always falls for the wrong guy, the loser who makes all mothers nervous. It’s not that I don’t have good guys in my life, but they are friends and no matter how much time I spend with them I don’t feel the click, the connection I do with the type I do fall for. I don’t know why but I’m not happy unless I have a guy who needs my help, or needs to be taken care of. Am I completely hopeless or just crazy?

Dear Completely Stumped,

Let me start by saying you are not alone. Many girls, in fact I bet every girl at least once in her life, will fall for a loser guy. You are neither hopeless nor crazy, you just need advice, so here it goes:
When you start falling for a loser guy, ask your gal friends to remind you that he is indeed a loser and to step away from that situation entirely. Remind yourself that in the end with a loser guy there will only be disappointment. You can’t change a person, they have to want to change for themselves.

Who knows, maybe one of those guy friends just might be the one you end up with. Stay away from guys that have no intention to change. Don’t give up, keep looking for the right guy, the one that wants to take care of you just because he can.
